Laken's First Camping Trip
At the end of July we went on a camping trip to celebrate our friends, Megan and Trevor, as they prepared to get hitched. In lieu of a traditional shower, they opted to do a couples camping trip, and we are so glad they did. We had a great time with everyone, and Laken proved that she is a rough and tough camper. She slept in the tent with us and did great!

The next day, we ventured up to Mt. Rainier and went hiking with our "soul friends", the Nunns. We had such a fun time with them and hope to get a few more hikes in before the weather turns too cold.
9 Months!
Laken turned nine months on July 6, 2011.
As you can see, it's getting more and more difficult to keep her still for a picture. I had better luck if I let her keep a "prop" with her ... thus, the plastic cup and the coaster in the pictures below.

A Fun Surprise!
I got to throw a surprise bachelorette party for Kaitlin in July. Kaitlin's maids-of-honor, Emily and Alli, and I spent a couple of weeks sneaking text messages and e-mails and managed to keep Kaitlin in the dark through it all. I love to throw a party and this one was no exception.

After drinks, food, and gifts, we headed out for a night on the town
My mama-in-law was nice enough to rent an Escalade to drive us around for the night. We had such a fun time and partied into the wee hours of the morning. Can't wait to see all these girls at the wedding!

Dinner with Friends
We had a fun night in early July with the Horwaths and the Hundahls. Mickey cooked a delicious dinner as usual and we even let the boys join us this time! :)
