Family Fun Day at Vicki's

Today was "family fun day" at Auntie Vicki's. She had us all over to her house in Gig Harbor for dinner and games. Mom, Dad, Kathleen, David, Gary, Vicki, Linda, Louie, Craig, Katie, Gabrielle, Tony, Donovan, Tom, Stephen and I were all there and we had such a crazy/silly time.
Vicki made a wonderful dinner and we all spent a bunch of time catching up since we hadn't been able to spend Easter together this year.

Donovan's gotten so big, I almost didn't recognize him. He's 12 already!
Gabrielle was adorable. She always wants to play with me and literally won't leave my side ... it's absolutely precious. I feel so lucky to have created a bond with her while she's that young. I hope as she grows up she still feels close to me. Stephen scares her a little for some reason. It's so cute because she has so much fun playing with him but then he'll play a little too "rough" (i.e. growling like a tiger or jumping out from behind a fence) and she'll run away and not like him for the rest of the day.

We played the most mindless, ridiculous (but super fun) game called "right, left, center" which requires three dice, a center bowl, and poker chips, and involves rolling dice and passing chips whichever way the dice land. The last one with a chip wins the pot. Linda won first and got so excited she let out the highest pitched scream I've ever heard come out of her. Too funny. At one point we started playing "quarters" with the chips ... when my mom finally got a chip in the bowl she got so excited! We were like little kids! We all had a blast.

The final game of the night was for a $42 pot ... the biggest pot of the night. Gabrielle sat next to me and wouldn't stop giving me hugs - so cute! Anyway, tension was high ... eyes were on the prize ... donovan was attempting to cheat ... Linda was calling out to the dice gods for "circles" ... and I was "keeping it in the family" ... David was bouncing the table ... everybody wanted the pot. But in the end, Gabrielle outwitted us all with her fabulous dice tossing and took home the prize.

Stephen's Birthday

Today was Stephen's birthday and we spent the whole weekend celebrating. It's hard to believe he's already 27!

On Saturday we went to the Woodland Park Zoo.

We saw elephants, gorillas, kangaroos, and komodo dragons. It was a beautiful day and, even though there was a tiny drizzle at first, the sun came out and we had a fantastic time.

We even saw the new baby tiger: Hadiah. She was absolutely adorable ... she came out and started playing right in front of the glass. Stephen took his arm and waved it in front of her and she followed it ready to pounce. She really was just like a big kitten.

We watched a bird show ....

... we chased the elephants

It was a great day.

Later that night, we had dinner in Tacoma with Stephen's family at El Toro (a family favorite). Grandma Annabelle, Sandy, Steve, Ben, Luke and Stephen's mom and dad were all there.

Today we had dinner with Ashley and my parents on the waterfront to celebrate both my mom's and Stephen's birthdays. It was a beautiful day.

We ended the day at Ashley's play: Pretty Theft. She had the leading role and did an amazing job. I'm so proud.
