7 Months!

Seven months and I am on the move!
Check out my past growth here,  here, here, here, here, and here

Easter Part One

We spent Easter Saturday down in Kelso with Stephen's family and had an absolute blast.  It was the most beautiful day we've had all year and we spent lots of time outside enjoying it.

We had an Easter egg hunt in Jeff & Deb's backyard.  They hid $300 in eggs all over the backyard and it was every man for himself!
Laken got in some good Great-Grandma time as we all sat out on the patio drinking wine and enjoying the sunshine.
We had a blast shooting bb guns at pop cans and starting up an impromptu dance party

And, of course, we spent the majority of the time oogling the newest member of the bunch in her cute little Easter dress

Birthday Celebrations

We had the whole family over to our house to celebrate my mom and Stephen's birthdays on the 22nd.  We had some good mexican food and great entertainment from our little punkin.

Laken LOVED helping to open the presents.  She especially loved the taste of tissue paper in her mouth :)

Birthday Lunch

Something I love about being at home right now is having the freedom to stop in and see Stephen at work.  We celebrated his birthday over the course of three days this year.  We started with a celebration at his office with his employees on Wednesday (I didn't take any pics unfortunately).  Then, on Thursday, I surprised him and took him out to lunch.  I asked his office manager to schedule him a fake patient right after the lunch hour so we would have plenty of time and then Laken and I stole him away for a full two hours in the middle of the day.  We had a delicious lunch at Primo Grill.
Is it bad that we like to give Laken lemons and watch her reaction?!
She seems to like them at least :)

Spring Fair

We took Laken to the Spring Fair a couple of weekends ago and had so much fun eating good food and showing her all the animals.  Laken LOVES animals.  She gets so excited and squeals with delight when she sees them, so this trip was just as much fun for mommy and daddy as it was for her!

We had a MAJOR blowout and had to change into jammies.  Dealing with that issue at the fair was probably my least favorite part - the bathrooms are not exactly mommy-friendly.
By the time we were done Laken was exhausted and so were we - Stephen and I wished we had "mobile beds" to ride around in too!

Bookworm Baby

Nuclear Fallout

With the nuclear crisis happening in Japan right now ... Daddy thought we should be prepared :)

A Birthday Party

It seems like everyone we know is turning 30 this month! Fortunately, I am not.
We went to a birthday party for Ryan Jordan a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.  Ryan is so sweet and we loved celebrating him.  Happy birthday Ryan!

The mamas and the babies

Little King Stanley isn't so little anymore
Opening presents
Ryan scored a trip to Hawaii for his birthday ... not bad!

Orange You Glad You Tried It?

I was at a potluck for my stroller fitness class a couple of weeks ago when Laken decided to be THAT baby.  You know, the one who cries and screams and makes all the other moms glad that their child is behaving.  Poor Laken was teething really bad and I had almost decided to take her home when one of the other moms suggested that I try giving her an orange. I thought, "what the heck!" and thrust that orange slice at her as fast as I could get it into my hot little hands. It worked! She absolutely loved it and forgot all about her teething pain.  When Daddy found out that I had let her have her first taste of something a little sweeter without him, though, he insisted that I pick up some oranges and let him see her reaction too .... so, we had a little orange-tasting picnic in the living room...
Yummmm, I think I like this!
Oooooh, I don't know ... maybe not!
Yup, I LOVE it!
Well, they might have taken the orange away, but this tray still TASTES like it!
