Lisa's Birthday

Well, folks, I am waaaaaay behind in my blogging. 

To put it into perspective for you, Lisa's birthday was on May 13th and it is now June 3rd. I have tons and tons and tons of pictures to share because the weather has been slowly getting better and life is good.   So that I don't remain permanently behind in my blogging, these next few posts will probably be heavy on the photos and lacking in text. Sorry.  I'm a mommy to a fully mobile almost-8-month-old, and it is the best job in the world ... BUT ... it does not leave me much time for blogging.

Sooooo ... without further adieu ... 

We went to Pt. Defiance Zoo on Lisa's birth-DAY.  We celebrated the whole weekend, but here are the pictures of the actual day when she went from 24 to 25.  OLD LADY! ;)

 I LOVED the bird exhibit.  I didn't know they were doing this, but we got to buy these little feeding sticks and the birds come right up on your hands - so cool! I had Laken in the Bjorn and I don't know which one of us had more fun with it! Here's Lisa's friend Jacky and her daughter, Madison.

Sunny Day Playdate

It was so nice today! We had a great time soaking up the sun with Elin, Marin and Lilia and their mommies.

The Face

 This is the new face that Laken started making last Friday.  And she hasn't stopped making it since.

 The face, combined with the constant growling and grumbling noises that she likes to make, has led us to fondly refer to her as our little gremlin. :)

 The weather was great on Friday, so Stephen decided to ride in to work.  I just couldn't help but snap a couple of pictures of him on his way out.  

Something New

We are still working on the hand to mouth coordination - and Auntie Lisa and I had some good laughs watching her "practice" - but she's getting the hang of it and starting to like them.  I mostly just like that they serve as a great distraction for her while I'm getting her food ready for her!

Nisqually Pictures

 Last Sunday was May Day and a rare sunny day here - since we were coming out of one of the coldest Aprils on record, we decided to make the most of it and get outdoors.  We drove down to the Nisqually Nature Refuge and enjoyed a nice long walk on the boardwalk.  The tide was really low and we didn't see much wildlife, but we had a wonderful day.  Laken started out in the stroller...

And then she got in the Bjorn with Daddy - she LOVES to be in the Bjorn

 Then she got into the Bjorn with Mommy - still as happy as ever!

 And, finally, she got out of any constraints whatsoever when Mommy and Daddy decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with their pretty little girl - I mean, who could resist!?!
